1 MW industrial rooftop in Ahmedabad
How we engineered and installed a megawatt-scale rooftop on metal sheds while the factory kept running.
The client and the challenge
An industrial unit in Ahmedabad with high daytime consumption wanted to cut its energy cost without disturbing production. Its roofs were metal sheds of different ages, and work had to fit around running shifts.
Our approach
- Structural assessment of every shed before design, with reinforcement where needed.
- Rail-less, non-penetrating mounting suited to metal sheets, to protect the roof's waterproofing.
- String and inverter layout split by shed, so sections could be commissioned one by one.
- Walkways and lifelines installed for safe cleaning and maintenance.
- Work planned around shift timings with a dedicated safety supervisor on site.
The result
The plant now supplies a large share of the factory's daytime energy, with remote monitoring for the maintenance team. At 120 units per kW per month, a 1 MW plant generates around 14.4 lakh units a year.
